| IMAX® theatre is a part of the new CineStar Arena Commercial 10-screen Theater Multiplex in the new commercial complex ARENA CENTER in Zagreb, Croatia. CineStar multiplex is incorporated in Arena Center which is planned to open in October this year; however the new digital IMAX theatre within the complex, is scheduled to open in December 2010, as the first IMAX location in Croatia.
The incredible success that IMAX theaters are having all over the world shows us that IMAX is
revolutionizing the way people see event movies, delivering an unrivalled, premium entertainment
experience. Studio UPI-2M is responsible for creating the whole Arena Center design, architectural solution of CineStar theaters as well as IMAX theatre design. Unusual shape, building height and combination of materials are providing the contemporary design solution with illumination effects highlighted. The external impression of the IMAX is inspired by describing of what is actually happening inside. Black facade body is coated with meshed turquoise layer that follows the facade shape. Illumination implemented between two layers on the facade is spreading the lights along with turquoise skin which emphases all shine and luxury of the building itself.
